Every variety of grape makes a different style of wine, each style having its own set of virtues and admirers.

At Kohi Corner Bottle Shop we follow a specific process in order to choose which wines we will stock.

Bi-monthly, Cellar Select members (our buying group) get together for a tasting and it is at these tastings that we determine which wines the group will buy.

We will evaluate smoothness, smell, taste and after-taste and then surprisingly we will reject around 60% of the wines offered, finally recommending only about one in twelve bottles based on the intrinsic quality and the retail value.

We cannot make enough of James’ value to the Association in terms of his incredible expertise and knowledge in wine tasting.  As a group, our core value is quality wine, and tasting is the method if assessing that.  James has been to every tasting and is right at the heart of that in what we do and how we do it.

James has a great relationship with the industry (everyone knows and likes him) and also his customers.  After 18 years they are like old friends, who have come to trust his recommendations without question.  We would like to wish James very BIG congratulations on this special day marking his 18th year of trading.
